scroll down for OUR NEXT TRAINING DATES

ProfiTraining is an initiative by Leipzig-based dancers for the Leipzig dance scene organised by the association 4fürTANZ e.V. in the frame of their training and workshop programm TanzProzess. Regular drop-in morning classes in different styles and techniques offer the participants the opportunity to train and it serves as a platform for professionals to meet. The classes are taught by regional and international teachers.

ProfiTraining Leipzig is currently hosted in the rehearsal spaces of Schaubühne Lindenfels und LOFFT – Das Theater and continues to exist thanks to their generous support. Currently the training takes place every other week or as often as the circumstances allow.

ProfiTraining SPEZIAL is offered when the teaching artists give insight into their newest work presented at a local theatre.

class description

The class is focused on connecting with the body and with the pleasure of movement, enriching and developing “movement language”, at the same time as challenging the body.

The class begins by building up a good base, through exercices from different techniques as Kinesiology, Yoga and Gyrokinesis we want to get our body to feel as open and available as possible for the movement.

This previous preparation will increase comfort when learning dance sequences or working in improvisation tools. The classes study the different impulses that can create movement, to gain deeper understanding of the sequences, and be able to keep this clarity while improvising.

bio

Maria Torrents Soler is a freelance artist, based in Berlin, working in the fields of dance and performing arts.

Born in Barcelona, Maria received her education in contemporary dance from the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona, followed by the postgraduate company It Dansa, where she performed repertory from various choreographers, including Ohad Naharin, Alexander Ekman, and Rafael Bonachela.

Her career as a freelance dancer launched in 2014, through a collaboration with Jordi Fàbregas in two solos: “Duel” and “Trio per Ballarina, Violoncel i Calder”.

A relocation to Berlin led to further
collaborations with different choreographers such as Morgan Reid, Tine Schmidt, Thomas K. Kopp, Alessandra Guiriola and Masha Gurina, as well as the development of her own work “NomenNescio” with Nicole Michalla and the continuation of her path as a teacher.
