Born in Paris in 1984, Charlie Fouchier is a dancer, dance teacher and choreographer. After gaining a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Sorbonne University in Paris, he completed his dance training at the Centre National de la Danse Contemporaine (Angers, France).
Employment across Europe as a professional dancer or assistant with choreographers such as Aina Alegre, Laurent Chétouane, Johann Kresnik, Moritz Majce & Sandra Man and Yoshiko Waki then led him to festivals and theatres such as Dampfzentrale, DeSingel, Hebbel Am Ufer, Hiroshima, Kaai Theater, Mousonturm, Muffathalle, Rencontres Chorégraphiques, STUK, and TanzQuartier among others. Since 2016, Charlie Fouchier has been living in Leipzig and developing his own choreographic works: Touch Not Touch (3AM, Berlin, 2017; Tanzwerkstatt Europa, Munich, 2017). OS22 (Designer’s Open, Leipzig, 2017; NYG West, Leipzig, 2018), ΒᾸΘΟΣII (LOFFT-Theater, Leipzig, 2017-2018; Kunstfabrik Flutgraben, Berlin, 2019).
